6 Essentials to Check When Looking For Student Housing

When we talk about international studies, Australia is ranked as the third most famous place for high-quality education. Not just this but the cultural diversity and friendly behaviour of people there is also a big reason why every year thousands of students fly to Australia to live out their dreams and further their studies.

However, finding the right accommodation for students could be a daunting journey. To save you from the mess and student accommodation horror stories, here we bring the six essentials you need to check before you sign the papers and call this new accommodation your home.

Location of the property

Figuring out the perfect location for a property is challenging yet very important at the same time. Ensure that the accommodation you choose is near your university and not overpriced; basic necessities should be within easy reach. All that sounds like a lot of things to look for? With online rental providers such as Iglu, the search just got online!

Water Supply

When you shift to a place near the university, the chances are that you may struggle with the water supply because of the high number of students living in the same building and nearby. So, before you jump into the new place with your bags, give all the taps a quick look and make sure that water is not the first issue you face when you wake up in the morning.

Address the preferences

The first thing you would be required to do is make a list of your preferences. Note down the absolute essentials and pick the ones you can afford. You could also look for part-time jobs to be able to supplement your livelihood; there’s no harm in saving money as well. You have to be aware of your habits as well as your comfort zone. Ask yourself a few questions before you take it: If sharing a bedroom and bathroom is a concern, if you want a Zostel, a flat or a hostel. This way it’ll be much easier for you to decide.

Pest problems

Infestations aren’t so uncommon in this part of the world. However, you wouldn’t want the wonders of Australian wildlife, making their way inside your house. To make sure your roommates or flatmates are the only living beings staying with you, scan your eyes through the house while picking one. Don’t forget to check in the kitchen cupboards, behind the doors, and even bathrooms.

All the best young buds and may the odds be in your favour!

Nine University Review – Why An Amazon FBA Business is Great For Budding Entrepreneurs

Nine University is the best in the business when it comes to teaching people about the joys and the opportunity which Amazon FBA businesses present. Indeed if you look at a Nine University review then you are likely to find students who have completed these courses and then gone on to do extremely well for themselves within their own business, working under the Amazon FBA model. The reason why Nine University exists is because launching an Amazon FBA business is a great idea and one that is absolutely perfect for any entrepreneurs out there who have yet to launch their own business.

If you consider yourself to be someone who has the entrepreneurial spirit in them, then here is why Amazon FBA can be so beneficial.

Amazon FBA Explained

To those of you who aren’t quite aware, Fulfillment by Amazon is a model whereby a company sells its goods through Amazon’s online platform, and then the online giant is the one who deals with the logistics such as shipping when a customer buys a product. Amazon also store the goods and they deal with the returns and any customer service issues relating to the delivery.

Product Selection and Trends

This should be viewed by any would-be entrepreneur as a great foundation business from which they can learn from and then use that knowledge to launch more businesses in the future. With this in mind, one of the best things that you will gain from running a Fulfillment by Amazon business is that you will have to pick the right products to sell. Here on Amazon’s marketplace there is almost no limit to what you can sell, which puts the pressure on you to spot customer trends and pick the products which have the highest mark up and which you think that you will sell the most of. Product selection and monitoring trends is key in any business and with an FBA business you will have to learn that if you want to make the most money that you can.

Focus on Sales

The key to any business in the world is sales, and this is what you will be specializing in when you are working under the FBA umbrella. Becasue you won’t have to spend the time, money or effort on the shipping and logistical side of things, you can instead focus on how to sell your products in the best way, how to market well and understand the skills required to sell big.

Suppliers

As well as finding the right products and selling them in the right way, this type of business will also teach you a great deal about suppliers, contracts, and how to manage cashflow and negotiations. These are of course key skills which every business requires, and having Amazon take care of so much will allow you to learn about them in great detail.

If you want to run a business, this is a great place to start.

3 Tips For Decorating Your Home Office

In today’s world, more people than ever find themselves working from home. And while most of these people never planned or intended on working from home, they nonetheless have found themselves needing to create a space where they can work productively in an environment where they once only relaxed.

Luckily, there are things you can do within your home to create a home office space that works for you. To show you how this can be done, here are three tips for decorating your home office.

Pick Colors Based On Your Personality

To give yourself the best chance of finding success within your home office or whatever office space you’re currently using, you’ve got to create an environment where you can be productive. For many people, your decor can play a big role in this, especially when you think about color psychology.

According to Gretchen Roberts, a contributor to HGTV, bland and neutral colors aren’t usually the best for inspiring people to dive into their work or think creatively. Rather, you should try to bring some colors into your space that really speak to your personality. If you’re having a hard time remaining positive at this time, you may want to bring in some bright and cheery colors, like yellows or oranges, to liven your space up. But if you’re needing something calming, greens and blues tend to work best.

Organize In A Way That Makes Sense For You

When you spend a lot of time in one space, it’s only natural that you’ll start to accumulate clutter. Especially if you have a lot of papers for your job, you’re going to need to find some way to keep all of these things organized in your home office space.

While there are a lot of theories and strategies for organization out there, Kacie Goff, a contributor to Freshome.com, advises that you spend some time thinking about how you best organize and can stay organized before you begin making some decor changes to your space. Your organization method might require things like filing cabinets, bins, baskets, shelves, drawers, or something completely different.

Balance Form With Function

In a home office, you definitely want some of your personality to be reflected in the space. However, what you don’t want is for your space to be so comfortable that you forget that you should actually be doing work there.

To find this balance between form and function, Susan Bricknell, a contributor to Real Simple, advises that you pair some functional furniture with soft and cozy rugs and throw pillows. By doing this, you’ll be able to cater your comfortability to what you’re currently needing in order to buckle down and get your work done.

If you’re needing some help designing and decorating your home office, consider implementing some of the tips mentioned above.

3 Tips For Road Tripping In The Heat Of Summer

With the summer fast approaching and travel plans being canceled or postponed, it may be wise to consider making plans for the later end of summer that don’t involve airplanes or other mass transit systems. Because of this, taking a summer road trip may be the best option for you and your family.

If this sounds like something you and your loved ones would like to try in the next few months, here are three tips for road tripping during the heat of the summer.

Double Check Your Tires

While it’s always wise to give your car a good once-over before leaving on a road trip, this is even more important when you’ll be driving through some potentially extreme weather like you can do in the summer.

One area of your car that you’ll want to give more extra attention to are your tires. According to Jason Fogelson, a contributor to Forbes.com, tires that aren’t properly inflated have a greater chance of failing while driving in the heat, which can cause you to get in a car accident. Additionally, if your tires are overinflated, even by a small amount, the heat around you can cause that air pressure to expand even more and make your tires very dangerous to drive on. With this in mind, make sure you double-check your tires and tire pressure before taking a road trip when it’s hot outside.

Make Sure Your Cooling System Is In Good Shape

When it’s hot outside, you’re going to want to make sure your car’s heating systems are in good working order to keep both your engine and the interior of your car at a comfortable temperature.

According to CarTalk.com, if you’ve had any issues with your car’s cooling system in the past, it’s vital that you get this all checked out before taking a road trip when it’s hot outside. The parts of your car that are associated with the cooling system include your radiator, thermostat, water pump, fans, coolant, and more.

Don’t Hang Out In The Car

During a road trip, it’s not uncommon for people to pull over or rest in their car for a while to take a break from being on the road. However, when it’s hot outside, you need to be very careful about this and avoid it in most situations. Especially if you have children, the National Highway Traffic Safety Association warns that you never leave them sitting in the car unattended. Even with the engine running, it can still get too hot to be safely in there when the car’s not moving.

If you’re hoping to take a road trip later this summer, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you safely travel in the heat.

3 Tips For Saving Money When Building A New Home

When building a new home for yourself or your family, it’s going to be well worth your while to spend some time finding ways to cut costs and save on your bottom line, especially when this savings could result in you keeping thousands of dollars in your pocket once your home is completed.

To help you in doing this, here are three tips for saving money when building a new home.

Get Multiple Estimates

Once you’ve decided that you’re going to build a new home, one of the first things you’ll want to do is find a contractor to work with. While you might already have someone in mind to build your new home for you, you could be cheating yourself out of cost savings if you don’t get multiple estimates on your project before you choose who you’ll work with.

According to Becky Striepe, a contributor to HowStuffWorks.com, you should try to get at least three to five estimates on your project before you settle on a contractor. By doing this, you’ll get to see a good cross-section of what pricing structures are out there and what type of work you’ll be getting for the estimates you’ve received. Additionally, you’ll also find it easier to see if something is in a good price range once you have first-hand knowledge of what the actual price ranges are for your specific project.

Embrace An Open Floor Plan

The design and setup of your new home can have a big impact on what your final cost will be for construction.

To get the most bang for your buck, Laura Williams, a contributor to Money Crashers, recommends that you try to work in an open floor plan rather than sectioning off your home into too many separate rooms or areas. With an open floor plan, you’ll be able to put up fewer walls, which will save you money, while also making the most of the square footage that you’re including in your home.

Carefully Choose To DIY

For some people, doing any of the work on your new home isn’t going to be an option. But if you have the time and capabilities, you can save a lot of money by taking on parts of your construction by yourself.

To determine if this is a good idea for you, Laura Mueller, a contributor to House Logic, recommends that you really think about how handy you are and what projects would be okay with having work done that wasn’t completed by a professional. If you can find this sweet spot, you could save a lot of money on your construction.

If you’re wanting to save some money when building your new home, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you with this.

3 Tips For Saving Money On Christmas Decorations

One holiday that many people go all-out for when it comes to their home decoration is Christmas. However, in order to make your home look like a winter wonderland, you might come to find that you’re quickly spending tons and tons of money decor and other items. But luckily, this doesn’t have to be the case.

To help you keep some of that money in your pocket for actual Christmas shopping, here are three tips for saving money on Christmas decorations.

Use Nature

An amazing and cheap way to decorate your home in a winter theme is to use things that you can find in nature around your home.

According to Lori Johnston, a contributor to HGTV.com, by taking some clippings from around your neighborhood or your town, you can find natural elements that will help you make your home look festive without having to spend any money at all. Things like fall tree boughs, pinecones, berries, and more can all be easily incorporated into your Christmas decor. So before you head off to the store to get some decoration, take a look around the outside of your home to see if you can use anything natural first. You might be surprised at how creative you can get with just a few clippings.

Know Where To Shop

For the times that you are going to buy something that you’ll add or use for your holiday decor, it’s important that you know the best places to shop in order to get the most for your money.

Isadora Baum, a contributor to the Rachel Ray Show, shares that the best place to get Christmas decorations at reduced prices is a thrift store. If you’re able to get to a thrift store at the right time and when they have a good selection of holiday items available, you can save anywhere from 50 to 90 percent on typical holiday decorations that you’d buy at a traditional retail shop.

Buy At The Right Times

In addition to buying your decor at the right place in order to save money, you should also know the best times to make your shopping trips for all types of Christmas supplies.

According to Sarah Stebbins, a contributor to Real Simple, most larger stores follow a certain pattern for sales and discounts leading up to the day of Christmas. Generally, you can find discounts on outdoor holiday decorations toward the beginning of November. As you get a little further into November, you’ll then find indoor decor and more Christmas-specific decorations on sale.

If you’re wanting to save money on all of your Christmas and holiday decor this coming year, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you accomplish this.

However, for many, they want to experience adventure, thrilling activities, and come away with some extraordinary experiences. A beach holiday will simply not provide this. Therefore, you need to ensure that you are choosing the right destination that truly allows the adventure lover inside of you to make the most of your time away.

Here are five destinations that will be ideal for someone who wants to see experience adventure.

  • Ecuador

Ecuador allows you to experience adventure to the fullest, while also providing you the perfect place to unwind too, which is vital! While you may believe that you don’t want to simply chill during your time away, burn out is still possible even on holiday. However, Ecuador won’t make the chill time feel like a waste of time. Hike to the top of quaint villages and then enjoy the breathtaking views as you rest up. Resting up won’t be at all bad here. The best thing about choosing to take a holiday here is that you can enjoy the thrill of exploring the Cotopaxi volcano at the national park by hiking, but there are also opportunities to snorkel, cycle, and swim. The experience of an Ecuador vacation doesn’t stop there! Learn how to kayak or surf, or even how to horseback ride, or what lives in the natural paradise of the forests.

  • South Africa

South Africa is the ideal destination for those who also love animals. Being home to vast numbers of natural wildlife, you can satisfy both the adventure and animal lover inside you by booking safari tours. Get close to hippopotamus, elephants, and zebras, and then get your heart racing as you watch lions, cheetahs, and hyenas from a distance living in their natural environment. If you don’t want to go on a tour, then why not consider abseiling down one of the mountains in Cape town or hiking and camping beneath the stars on one of the popular trails they have or exploring the hidden caves.

  • Switzerland

For many adventurers, it is the challenge they love to face that spurs them on. So what better place to take on a challenge than the Swiss Alps? The Swiss Alps take up nearly 65% of the country’s landscape and are ideal for adventurers and hikers alike. For the thrill-seeker, you can reach the summit of Jungfrau and then zip line your way down to the bottom, flying at 55mph down an 800m long steel cable! What better way to experience a hiking adventure than this?

  • Norway

Take to the waters and paddle across the largest fjord Norway has and experience the natural scenery that surrounds you as you experience your adventure.

  • Bazil

Finally, why not consider ticking off some of your bucket list adventures on your trip to Brazil because they offer plenty for adventurer lovers. Visit the Amazon forest and trek through on foot. Or glide through the river on a canoe or boat, and watch out for the wildlife that resides there. If this wasn’t enough, you could also:

  • Go hiking – check out the Serra da Canastra National Park
  • Discover the Pantanal wetlands

Smartphones are Turning Into Laptops

That time when laptops and smartphones will merge into one single multipurpose device, replacing a plethora of gadgets that we use every day is almost here. That’s because some smartphones today are even more powerful than the computers used by NASA to send a man on the moon several years back. The latest smartphones have graphic processors to deliver high-quality graphics and video buffering capability rivaling the fastest laptops in the market.

Tech companies have realized that encompassing the features of a computer in mobile is the next market trend with Samsung leading the race with their new NexDock for smartphones. With only a fraction of the price of a laptop, a NexDock is a laptop’s empty shell with only a Screen, Keyboard, and a USB-C type connector for docking your phone. It utilizes the immense processing power in your phone to give you a laptop-type windows experience by just docking your phone into its port. We can say more about Samsung but that is not the focus of this piece.

Smartphone-Based Laptops

The latest mobile chipsets are powerful enough to power a Windows operating system seamlessly. Tech companies are utilizing this enormous potential in mobile processor technology to power a new class of notebooks. If you look at the specifications of the latest models of laptops by Asus, Lenovo, and Hp, you would see that a Qualcomm chip is powering them. These are the same class of chips that power the latest smartphones. So, technically, there is no need for a person to have two devices performing similar operations.

The powerful processor of your phone can be utilized to power other devices and gadgets without the need for separate processors for everything. Microsoft has launched its “Always Connected PC,” which uses a mobile ARM chipset for its processor. ASUS came up with an innovative idea to compete in the market by introducing the PadFone. The phone is designed to power a tablet, and it can be put inside the casing of a tablet hull, seamlessly transforming itself into a tablet. The Sentio Superbook is another device currently in the market that allows for a connection with a smartphone. It then uses the processor of the smartphone as its CPU. It is so convenient to drop your phone into a tablet when you are feeling like watching a movie on a bigger screen or just working on an assignment.

What’s the Difference?

The only difference between a smartphone and a laptop is the screen size and the qwerty keyboard. A lot of companies have put docks in the market capable of harnessing the power inside a smartphone. A mobile phone dock is a laptop shaped hull having only a bigger screen and a full laptop-style keyboard. For example, Huawei has a product in the market that uses a USB-C type cable to connect to a laptop, and it uses its screen as a monitor. Mobile phones are slowly replacing laptops in the tech market, and tech manufacturers are beginning to adapt to this changing market trend.

What is the difference between a physical bank and an online bank

The bank is an institution that has been very beneficial to our world. Banking began with the aim of providing us with safe places to keep our money. However, they have been able to add a lot of services over the years including giving out loans, allowing people to pay bills and giving out cards that can be used to withdraw money and make payments among many others. This article will explain the difference between a physical bank and an online bank.

What is a physical bank?
A physical bank is the type of bank that you can visit in your locality. They provide a physical location to store money. It is easier to trust these banks since they have a physical and verifiable office that you can easily visit whenever there is an issue. They mostly operate under the rules of the city or country. They are licensed and regulated by the government and to a very large extent, the deposit of the customers of a reputable bank is guaranteed. Even if the bank is to shut down, government regulations and insurance will lead to depositors getting their money back.

What is an online bank?
An online bank is a bank that operates on the Internet. For this type of banks, you can visit them through a website or their mobile app. In most cases, they also have phone numbers and social media platforms that you can use in communicating with them. They give you a high level of freedom over your account as you can load your account and use their services through their available platform without having to visit the bank. An example of an online bank is Transferwise. You can follow the link to read reviews about Transferwise, how reputable they are and tips on using their platform.

Similarities between physical banks and online banks
The major similarity between physical banks and online banks is that they provide the same services. They both exist as a platform where you can save money, pay bills, transfer money, get loans and every other service that a bank offers. Thus, virtually every service you can get from a physical bank, you can also get from an online bank, making both types of banks a great option when you need banking services.

Differences between physical banks and online banks
The major difference between physical banks and online banks is the fact that one has an office building locally that you can easily visit, while the other does not. Their mode for certain services could also be a bit different. For example, some transactions you might need from a physical bank might require you being physically present in the bank and presenting paperwork. However, when it comes to online banks, every service can be carried out remotely. Physical banks also gives you the opportunity to store physical stuffs like jewelry and important documents, while you might not get such opportunities with online banks.

The current state of physical and online banks
The important of online presence for any business is widely known. As a result, virtually every physical bank not only have a website and mobile application, but they also provide online banking services. Online banks also strive to have at least an office that they list on their website to get some of the trust that comes with having a physical location. Furthermore, most online banks strive to provide cheaper services since they know physical banks have an extra advantage. Thus, while the extra advantage of physical banks is the fact that they have a physical presence, online banks try to counter the advantage by being cheaper and more flexible.

Simple ways to create a more organised home office

In today’s world, a large number of job roles allow us to work from home. For many people, as long as you have internet access and a laptop, you don’t need to be in the office to be able to carry out a day’s work.

The idea of working from home may sound appealing, but for some people, it can present a number of distractions. When working from home, it’s important not to let the likes of a TV or other members of your household come between you and the tasks that need completing.

Whether you have a new job which requires you to frequently work from home or you already do and find you get distracted easily, creating a home office is the best way to maximise your productivity.

In an ideal world you’ll have a spare room which can be transformed into an office, but this isn’t the case for everybody. If you’re in this position, then think about an area of your home which you don’t use as much, and can act as a place to work from. Whether it’s in your dining room, a corner of your living room or even a garage; you can still create an organised work space.

To help you work to the best of your ability when working from home and avoid any distractions; here are a few simple ways in which you can create an organised working environment.

Make sure your space is clutter-free

When carrying out numerous tasks at once, it can often lead to a cluttered work space. Whether it’s reading multiple documents or sorting through files, it’s important you maintain an organised working environment, as this can help boost productivity.

There are a number of ways you can create a clutter-free work space, including desk drawers, filing cabinets, storage bins and stationary holders. Adding these into your workspace doesn’t have to come at a cost and you could even use drawers and cupboards that you already have in the home.

Create a daily plan

Just because you’re working from the comfort of your own home, doesn’t mean you can’t follow the same routine that you would in the office. On a daily basis many of us create a plan for the day ahead, consisting of emails that need to be sent, tasks that need completing etc.

The best way to plan your day is to display all of your tasks on a whiteboard or noticeboard so they’re visible at all times. Doing this will also give you a sense of satisfaction when you can tick each task off as you complete it.

Just because you’re working from home doesn’t mean you can’t be productive and create an organised work space. By following the simple steps we’ve mentioned and adding some of your own, will allow you to make the most of your time when working from home.
